About Me

Hi! I’m Darsie, an educator of ten years and a world traveler. After working for a decade in the mainstream American school system, I resigned from my job, sold all of my belongings, and left the US to travel indefinitely. I took off with nothing but a 46 Liter Osprey backpack and just one leg of my journey planned — El Camino de Santiago. After walking El Camino, I fell in love with long-distance hiking. I went to Romania to hike the Via Transilvanica, a more rugged and challenging hike than the Camino. I intend to continue traveling and walking. Follow along for updates, reflections, and tips on how to live out of a backpack and see the world by foot.
